Well, the world is definitely unfair. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this, but a few weeks ago, I tutored a girl who needed help in calculus. She had been to only two of the classes and the midterm was the next morning. I spent a couple hours laying out the core of the necessary knowledge. I was apparently very successful as she got an 85%. Now that’s all fine and good, except I got back my test and found that I had received a 72% on the same material!! …..complex conjugates…definition of a derivative….
Anyhow, I passed it at least. And now I’ve just finished my Greek midterm. I think I did fairly well on it. But we’ll see, I thought I did fairly well on my calculus midterm.
Also in the news, I went to a Campus Crusade for Christ meeting on Wednesday. I rather enjoyed it.

That's to bad on the test. All I can say is I miss you muchly.
Hi Lucas,
Well that is a pain on that test result. Bummer. Oh well! Like you say, at least you passed. Good deal on the other good results!
Cool about the CCfC meeting. I've been hoping that you will find some good Christian fellowship up there. It's all part of the equation for successful Christian living.
I was reviewing Rev 12:10&11 the other day, especially that part that says HOW the Christians overcame: "They overcame...by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony." To be an overcomer, it is apparently very important to us not only to depend upon the finished work of Christ, but also to SPEAK our own testimony to others. Food for thought! :-)
We miss you too Lucas! I hope you know that you are very much loved, respected and appreciated by your family. Please feel free to call me at home or at work anytime the fancy should strike. You're on my important calls list!
Hang in there on that workload. Weigh it carefully so you will make wise choices for future quarters as well. I have confidence that you'll do fine, but remember that there are always options if you find yourself overloaded.
Love you son! :-)
Papa
Hey you figured that out!! I could've told you that would've happened, I have extensive experience in the subject, I've spent more time helping girls with their homework than doing my homework, of course I don't spend much time doing my homework at all so that isn't too hard! But I definitely know that feeling! We should hang out sometime during christmas break, my volleyball skills have doubled since last time we met!
Well, it seems a bit late to be commenting on this but I thought I would anyways.
I imagine ultimatly its more important to help other people than to do well yourself. good job helping somebody pass math. i have to be appreciative on her part. after all you helped me all those years.
Monarch is right, we must all play volley ball sometime.
dont stop posting just because your away from school!
